I have an ex who has ADHD, 5 personalities and schitzo-affective?

The last part means he is both schitzophrenic in the manic sense (as well as hearing voices) and bipolar. I knew he had ADHD when we first became involved beginning of 2006. We broke up in october 2006 and he moved in, homeless, with me a eeek later...for 6 bad weeks. After injuring me twice...he ran away 1500km, but he made me promise to not let him disappear and to always be his friend. Which I did, despite abuse and despite him telling people he couldn't be with me when I had a brain tumour return...I was more concerned about his reaction: this is someone who is hurt easily but is not rational. I am attached to him because we were both severely molested by family members around the same ages (me from 2-15, him 5-12). He tried meds but is alcoholic...and has injured me several times...even came after me with a knife once. Now he has a new job, but when he loses them, he blames me,even a year later...do I protect myself by reinstating charges (it will ruin his career) I am conflicted
