What are the best types of headphones/earphones in the United States?

I want to know what kind of earphones I should buy... No price limit, just purely based on quality. I listen to rap/hip hop and techno sort of things the most but on the side I like rock. I listen to KiD CuDi, Brenton Duvall, and Lupe Fiasco the most. I like a lot of b but, I want clear b that is good but does rattle my brain when I am listening to it. I want to be able to listen to music for a while without my head hurting. I like to run so I would think that ear buds would be the best for that but I'm pretty sure over the head type headphones would be better quality but, that is also another question of mine.
