Relate to what they are saying and get them to make a promise to you. For instance, if someone says they can't afford to buy something right now don't just say well, we finance. Say "I understand it may be hard for you to pay for this all right now, but if I could offer you financing would you be willing to purchase it today?" This way it seems like you are interested in helping them find a solution not just pushing them by saying you finance. In the end, you are there for the customer and to meet their needs.
