Question regarding law school..........?

Once a person has finished their 3yr law school education, earning their J.D. degree, but wants to practice as a criminal prosecutor, do they have to take an additional cl??? or is the 3yr law school education adequate. I am confused as to how this works. Any sort of help would be appreciated. Thank you.
